Sub-Venues and Sharing Venues

SUB-VENUES: A venue is sometimes broken into smaller venues for use by younger teams, or for games with fewer players. To support this, yoursportsleague.com has a feature we call ":sub-venues."

To use this, you have to have the "parent" venue already in the system. To create a sub-venue, you can either edit an existing venue or add a new one by going to Manage Venues. Whether editing or adding a venue, you can select another of your league's venues in the "Sub-Venue" box.

(Note that sub-venues can have sub-venues of their own)

Once this has been done, our system can detect venue conflicts between a venue and either one of its sub-venues or its parent venue.

SHARED VENUES: Venues are often used by other leagues. If the other league also uses yoursportsleague.com, we can better support these two leagues by sharing those venues, instead of each league having a separate venue.

To use this, you have to notify Tech Support (go to Tech Support at the top of your home page). You will need to specify the other league involved and the venue (or the venues if both leagues already have created separate venues) -- the sharing of venues can only be implemented by our support staff.

We will merge the two venues into one, which is shared by the two leagues. Any games or assignments already using either of the venues will end up attached to the survivor. See Merge Two Venues for more information.

Once this has been done, our system can detect venue conflicts between games of the leagues using that venue.

Note that both sub-venue status and sharing leagues are show on your Manage Venues page.
