Elimination Tournaments

The two formats for elimination tournaments are represented by trees, both for creating and viewing schedules. The division schedule page is used for both. The possible configurations that are available for the two formats are:

Single Elimination: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 16 and 32 teams
Double Elimination: 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16 teams

The competition type determines the format. The number of teams in the division determines the configuration of the tree that is displayed. From the tree you can set the seeds, and the venues and times for each game (see single elimination example below). You can save the schedule at any stage (e.g. inputting the slots then setting the seeds later). After the schedule is published, when you enter results the continuing teams are automatically placed into the next branch of the tree, minimizing the amount of work required. The shade of color also changes for finished games, making it easy to view the schedule as the tournament progresses. After the final result is entered, the winning team is displayed above the schedule (see next page, Elimination Examples).

To enter results, click on the game number then go to Report Game Results from the links bar. Results are displayed in front of the team name.
